Garten party on the eve of our marriage

The 'witch house' at the Gartl

Long wedding weekend

The friday before our marriage is Ascension Day and a public holiday in Bavaria. Some of you may want to exploit that for a long wedding weekend in Regensburg: Besides the old town of Regensburg with its unique collection of historical buildings spanning from the Roman city walls to the celebrated spires of the gothic cathedral and medieval patrician towers you are free to explore the Southern Oberpfalz (Upper Palatinate).

We would especially recommend an excursion to Kallmünz in the Naab valley, some 50 kilometers northwest of Regensburg. The small town beautifully placed at the river banks under the mighty ruin of a medieval castle has attracted countless artists and craftsmen in the course of the centuries. This leaves houses and life in town picturesque and colourful, unimpressed by the regular floods. One very special place worth to point out: The restaurant "Zum Bürstenbinder" serves traditional "Bauchstecherla" and home-brewn "Zoigl beer" in its only tiny room. Beware the ceiling, where Florian's head has left its mark on a number of occasions!

Feier am Gartl

On friday evening we invite all of you to a small party at the Gartl. Here in Auf'nberg in the Naab valley, Florian's uncle created a small, and wondrous oasis. A witch house, a look-out tower, an outdoor bakery, campfire, a meditation hill - there's plenty to discover at the Gartl. This is a great place for a long barbecue, songs and good stories. We will be around in the afternoon, so please drop in anytime after five o'clock to occupy one of the few parking spots. And please, spare your formal clothing from the campfire and come as you are!
